GTRP 2.0
The St. Petersburg Declaration on Tiger of 2010
The St. Petersburg Declaration on Tiger of 2010 was a historic milestone in bringing highest level of political will and convergence towards wild tiger conservation, including launch of the Global Tiger Recovery Program. With the culmination of the first GTRP in 2022, and a thorough review and monitoring process, the GTF as the implementing arm of the Global Tiger Initiative Council, along with all tiger range countries and like-minded partners gave shape to the Global Tiger Recovery Program 2.0, which dwells upon multi-faceted approach towards tiger conservation across a plethora of themes, including protection and wildlife crime prevention, monitoring and habitat management, active management, livelihood and green business models for local people, landscape strategies for ensuring metapopulation survival, securing corridor linkages, linkages to one health and climate change approaches, conservation of prey/co-predators/meso-predators, and resource mobilization. The GTRP 2.0 provides both country specific actions, and a scientifically monitorable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in tune with the needs of wild tiger conservation in Anthropocene.
