Dr. Arvind Pandey is a Remote Sensing and GIS expert with over nine years of experience in applying geospatial technologies to climate change studies, alpine ecosystems, and wildlife conservation. With academic grounding in Remote Sensing, GIS, and Geography, he has worked across academia, research, consulting, and conservation, including roles at the Uttarakhand Space Application Center, Soban Singh Jeena University, Shubham Foundation, and currently as GIS Expert at the Global Tiger Forum (GTF), New Delhi. At GTF, he has integrated GIS into conservation monitoring frameworks, supporting habitat mapping, land use change analysis, and spatial database management to inform tiger conservation strategies and biodiversity policy.
A published researcher with more than 20 scientific papers, numerous international conference presentations, and a book on the Kailash Sacred Landscape, he is proficient in ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, and R. He has received international fellowships and travel grants, and national honors including the President of India Award (2013) and Governor’s Awards (2014, 2015). Dr. Pandey continues to advance data-driven environmental governance by blending technical expertise with on-ground conservation impact.
