Arun Kumar is a conservation professional with over eight years of experience in biodiversity planning, human–wildlife conflict mitigation, and landscape-level conservation strategy. As Senior Coordinator at the Global Tiger Forum since 2016, he has played a central role in the implementation of tiger conservation plans, high-altitude tiger landscape assessments, and biodiversity surveys across multiple protected areas. He has coordinated technical work for Conservation Assured Tiger Standards (CA|TS) assessments in India and Malaysia, led frontline perception surveys across 17 Protected Areas (PAs), and contributed to national landscape master planning initiatives.
In addition to his technical responsibilities, he has provided critical support in coordinating national and international consultations, bilateral engagements, and key ministerial-level meetings of tiger range countries. His expertise lies in multi-stakeholder coordination, site-level data collection, landscape-scale biodiversity planning, and compliance reporting aligned with national and global conservation priorities.
